- Wellington County is responsible for garbage and recycling pick up in the town of Erin. The county also operates the transfer stations where residents can bring their garbage and recycling.

- Pickup for urban garbage and recycling is every Thursday unless that day is a holiday falls on that day. If so a day is assigned to replace the missed day and is advertised
- Pickup of rural garbage and recycling is every other week on Thursdays, again unless a holiday falls on that day. Private contractors can also be hired to handle rural garbage.
- Large items can be transported to any County waste facility – the nearest to Erin is the Belwood Transfer Station at8585 Wellington Road 19, Township of Centre Wellington (see map).
